Framestore NY stepped up to the podium at the VES Awards, held at the Kodak Grand Ballroom in Los Angeles on 11th February 2007. For this, the 5th Annual Awards given by the Visual Effects Society.

The award for 'Outstanding Animated Character in a Live Action Broadcast Program, Commercial or Music Video' went to Geico 'Chat', a spot featuring the charming cockney gecko the Framestore NY team has animated for numerous spots promoting Geico Insurance. The spots, created by The Martin Agency, have featured Framestore NY’s work since January 2006.

The award was accepted on behalf of the team by Jon Collins, President of Framestore NY, who said afterwards, "This is an honour and a pleasure for us. Framestore NY has only been operational since 2004, and is still a relatively humble outfit. It's a real tribute to the skill and artistry of our team that they can produce world beating creature work like the gecko."

2006 marked another great year for Framestore CFC as a whole at the VES Awards, with Geico 'Chat' being one of seven nominations for awards throughout film, broadcast and commercial categories. Since their inception in 2003, the company has consistently performed well at the VES Awards, winning a total of eleven trophies, including three of the four 'Outstanding Visual Effects in a Commercial' Awards.
